New York Congressman Salutes Notorious B.I.G. aka Biggie Smalls in Congress

We were pleased to hear that Congressman Hakeem Jeffries, a Democratic member of the U.S. House of Representatives, representing New York’s 8th congressional district in Brooklyn and Queens, paid his respects to the late and great Christopher Wallace AKA Notorious B.I.G. AKA Biggie Smalls yesterday on the House floor.

Rapping some of the lyrics to Biggie’s classic “Juicy,” Jeffries proudly amplified the 20th Anniversary of the beloved rapper’s death. In his presentation, he remarked (using Biggie’s lyrics) that Wallace had gone from “negative to positive.” and deserved to be mentioned. Having been elected to the district where Big grew up, it seemed appropriate and seemed to be well received. To quote Biggie, “You never thought that hip hop would take it this far.” Indeed!
