For those who don’t know, Kehlani is a 19 year-old R&B artist who hails from Oakland, California. Her journey thus far has included a transition from dancer to singer, an appearance on America’s Got Talent, and, most recently, the release of her LP You Should Be Here. She states that her musical influences include the likes of Stevie Wonder, Musiq Soulchild, Lauryn Hill, and more. In her new single “The Way” featuring Chance the Rapper, these influences definitely shine through. The combination of smooth vocals over a dope instrumental never sounded better.
