Kevin McCall gave R&B and rap listeners a new mix-tape for Valentines Day 2013. Although Definition is a pretty decent collection, the mix-tape would have been pretty damn dope if McCall would have stuck to writing and allowed heavy hitters, such as Chris Brown, to lay down the vocals.
At its core, Definition is a street-like R&B album with rapping interspersed throughout. The majority of the vocals, both singing and rapping, come from McCall. However, there are several guest appearances including Tank and 2 Chainz. Ten of Definitions 13 tracks are about sex. The other songstracks 10, 11, and 12are about money, gold diggers, and partying, respectively.
No track on this album has the potential to be commercially successful. However, if Chris Brown covered Dance for Me, Tyrese covered Vowels, and Trey Songz covered Best Part, McCall would probably have some hits. With that said, Definition is a basic R&B mix-tape that has a lot of potential if K-Mac stays in his writing and producing lanes.
