Andre Cymone Interview 1982 by Detroit’s The Scene host Nat Morris


In this 1982 interview, Andre Cymone talks about Prince and Morris Day being in his band Grand Central, that they all started at his house where everybody got together, his dad and Prince’s dad played in a band together and he was supposed to produce The Time. Check it out and listen carefully.

André Cymone (born Andre Simon Anderson) is an American bassist, songwriter and record producer. Cymone was a bass guitarist for recording artist Prince’s touring band, pre-Revolution. Cymone began a solo career in 1981. His song, “The Dance Electric” (written by Prince), reached number ten on the R&B charts. Cymone later co-wrote and produced songs for other acts, including Jody Watley‘s “Looking for a New Love“, “Still A Thrill“, and “Real Love“. FULL BIO
