Two years have rapidly passed since Disclosure’s critically and commercially acclaimed debut LP Settle took the globe by storm. So it comes as no surprise that the UK duo’s forthcoming sophomore long player Caracal (due to arrive September 25th) is one of the year’s most eagerly awaited albums. Thankfully, the group has diligently released a few delicious teasers over the past month or so to ensure our appetites are sufficiently whetted. First up was the infectious house banger aptly titled “Bang That,” followed by the electro-soul euphoria of “Holding On” featuring the incomparable Gregory Porter, and most recently, the gorgeous “Omen” featuring Sam Smith.
Much to the collective bliss of soulheads worldwide, the Lawrence Brothers have dropped yet another shimmering gem from their forthcoming LP today. “Hourglass” represents an idyllic, musical wet dream of a pairing with the charismatic NYC-based duo Lion Babe, whose career is in full ascent mode as we speak, with a hotly-tipped album of their own on the near horizon. Sultry siren Jillian Hervey’s vocals are on glorious display here, atop an exuberantly hypnotic groove that should penetrate plenty of dancefloors, radio playlists, and iPhones throughout the remainder of 2015.
