The Arsenio Hall Show Cancelled After One Season @ArsenioHall

Arsenio Cancelled

In an unexpected move, it was announced Friday night that CBS would cancel The Arsenio Hall Show after just one season. This past year we here at soulhead have enjoyed Arsenio’s return to late night TV, hailing us back to the 1980s and 90s when he was the alternative to Johnny Carson‘s The Tonight Show. But in the modern era with all the many alternatives to late night TV (Kimmel and Fallon and a host of others), CBS no longer found the show viable.

In a statement, CBS said  “Unfortunately, ‘The Arsenio Hall Show’ will not return for a second season; while there are many loyal fans of the show, the series did not grow its audience enough to continue. Arsenio is a tremendous talent and we’d like to thank him for all the hard work and energy he put into the show. We’d also like to thank Tribune and all our station group partners for their support of the show.”

Undoubtedly disappointing, Arsenio at least seems to be taking it in stride, heading to twitter stating “Better to have love and lost…”

We’ll miss Arsenio’s show and thank him for all of his hard work! A true legend.
