This has been quite a stellar year for South Florida hip-hop duo The Vagabonds, even if its members have been busy with their own solo projects.
Earlier in the year, E.R. dropped his solo EP The Year of the Vagabond to much acclaim. Now, his rhyme partner Baysiqly is following suit with his sophomore solo collection, Diary of a Dreamer.
According to the Vagabonds’ website, Diary of a Dreamer “serves as a reflection of Baysiqly’s struggles throughout his life that have molded his music as he rises in the industry.” The album was completely produced by Kenyan beat wzard K Da Great, and features a dizzying array of soulful samples that perfectly compliment Baysiqly’s introspective lyrics and charismatic flow. Highlights include “The Foundation,” “Frenemies” (featuring E.R. and 21), “Desire,” and “Circle of Life.”
The album’s cover art, which boasts dreamcatcher and lion imagery (a nod to Baysiqly’s alias and solo debut, Leonidas), was created by Miami MC Dashius Clay (who also cameos in the Mr. Visual-directed clip for buzz track “Dreams”).
Diary of a Dreamer drops today, Tuesday, October 15, and is available for free download as well as on sale on all digital retailers such as iTunes, Amazon, XBOX Live, and many other stores.
