From the first listen, this S.F. Bay area cat is going in the right direction for his anticipated December full length release. With smooth vocals and contemporary lyrics, we really enjoyed listening to this fresh sound that is eerily reminiscent of classic R&B as well as some of our favorite hip hop groups like Foreign Exchange and even A Tribe Called Quest. Our favorite song by far is Do You Miss Me featuring one of our favorite (and underrated rappers) Rappin 4Tay! This smooth track uplifts Marshall’s Omar-esque delivery nicely and 4Tay is in rare form. Also, Marshall sparkles on the impressive duet with EnVogue songstress (and fine) Terri Ellis and we absolutely love the John Cougar “Jack and Diane” reference on the sampler’s closing tune, You Can Let Go, which is ready for radio right now (sans rap)!
Honestly, singers and projects like this deserve a lot more shine than they are getting. We are happy to be doing our part to bring it to you. We are sure you will enjoy it as we really dig this one. This brother is doing the Bay proud!
